Home City Ice Route Drivers use company provided delivery trucks to visit established accounts including local convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores, and various other customers. Typically, a normal day on the job consists of an average of 12-15 deliveries a day. Upon arriving at the customer's location, drivers are responsible for delivering product, invoicing, and basic communication/ interaction with the customer. Experience is not necessary; we will train employees through our established training program. There is no selling involved, customers expect us to keep them in stock at all times.
The position offers high earning potential for responsible and efficient individuals not intimidated by hard work and physical lifting. In addition to an hourly rate, you are able to make more through our commission pay structure by each bag delivered. One opportunity to generate more commission is having your commercial driver license (CDL). A CDL is not required but can be achieved through training provided by Home City Ice. Having a CDL can give you an opportunity to increase your bonus by being able to deliver more ice. We also offer tuition assistance and great opportunities to advance within our ever growing team. Production Team Members operate a machine that bags the ice and secures the top of the bag to ensure the perfect and best quality packaged ice. You will be producing, packaging, and preparing our delicious ice for delivery! The primary responsibility includes packaging the ice, placing it on skids and pallets, and assisting in loading delivery trucks. The ability to operate a pallet jack is necessary and training will be provided. Our production employees must be able to lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
This is a fast-paced work environment with added commission and bonus for motivated employees. Our production employees are paid a commission by the pallet. In the summer we have multiple shifts available. In addition, you must:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Be a team player, willing to work with your peers to get the jobs completed
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
Our maintenance team is responsible for the general and preventative maintenance of merchandisers such as: clean dirty condensers, replace faulty electric components, replace fan motors, thermostats and defrost timers. When problems arise with our boxes, our maintenance team will drive to the location to diagnose and repair the issues with our ice chests. Job requires knowledge of basic tools with equipment and tools provided. This job is perfect for those who are self-motivated. In addition:
- Training is available for specific skills
- Must possess a good driving record and ability to pass pre-employment background check
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will provide a full range of maintenance and repair services on the medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks at your location in order to keep our vehicles in top form. This will involve everything from daily equipment checks to performing both minor and major repairs. You will also occasionally maintain equipment in our production facility. We prefer to make as many repairs as possible in-house including engine overhauls, transmission replacement, limited body work and refrigeration unit repairs. During the winter months, when our ice trucks are running on a reduced, off-season schedule, you will conduct bumper-to-bumper preventative maintenance on each vehicle. It is also required to respond to road emergencies to repair vehicles if necessary. In addition, you must:
- Take ownership of your work, maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A good range of motion and the ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
